Tools to feel good
I want you to feel vibrant, energised, fulfilled, content, peaceful, free, and confident and capable of creating anything you want.
Here are three of the most important tools to help you feel this way:
The rule of 50/50 ⚖️
Much of our pain and discomfort is caused by our expectation that we shouldn’t be in pain and discomfort. When I embraced the idea that life is made up of 50% negative and 50% positive emotion (and that it shouldn’t be any other way like 25/75), my behaviours and outcomes totally changed.
It’s in our belief that we should feel good most of the time that means we look to quick-fixes and instant hits to jolly us along. But this causes us frustrating downstream consequences. Our negative emotions aren’t understood or processed, they are just pushed down waiting to reappear again. And we create desire for high-dopamine-giving things (like sugar and alcohol) that always leave us wanting more. We are never satisfied in our quest to be eternally satisfied.
Embrace the discomfort of negative emotion. They are meant to be there. They are revealing something to you, something that needs your attention. And if you can lean into this truth, you will never be afraid to go after anything you want because you know you can handle whatever the outcome is. You will never be afraid of whatever comes your way because you know you are resilient.Don’t keep yourself small and never take risks because you’re trying to avoid negative emotion. It’s a feeling and you can tolerate the discomfort of it for the amazing results you get to experience when you embrace it.
Nothing happens without a plan 📝
I’m a broken record with this but tell me what you’d stop doing and what you would create in your life if you became someone who consistently wrote a plan and followed it each day?
Whether it’s food, alcohol, work, family life and socialising, admin, or self-care, put it in your diary and follow through with it despite your mood. Honour your time and word, and don’t negotiate.
Understand what you want to create in your life (tangible outcomes as well as emotions like pride, peace and fulfilment) and the action that’s required to actualise it, and then start believing that you’re someone who follows through with what you say you’re going to do, someone who has their own back and can trust yourself to honour your word no matter what.
And then take your plan seriously and commit to doing those things no matter your mood.
Extraordinary results are created through small action and daily habits compounded over time. This skill is one of the most important skills for creating a life by design.Self-worth is an inside job 🌟
So many of us have low self-worth and self-esteem caused by the diet industry and culture we’ve grown up in.In 2026, I want you to consider what’s really true and what you’re basing your sense of acceptability and enoughness on.
Start to break down the social constructs, learnt beliefs and limiting mindsets that are holding you back from taking quality care of yourself each day.
Because when you feel less-than and inferior you don’t take quality action. You take restrictive, fear-based action which always has its limit and rebound.
It’s time to acknowledge that your worth and love-ability is 100% whole and complete, just as it was when you were born.
Nothing outside of you can determine it. Not your job, your degree, your weight, your jean size, nor your adherence to the diet or how “good” you’ve been.
Believe ahead of time that you are enough. That you are good enough. Because of course you are. Don’t give that power away to anyone or anything else.
And with that truth being said, ask yourself how you want to take care of your beautiful body today. Prove to yourself that there are no conditions on whether you treat yourself with love and kindness.Because life’s too short not to love how you live it.
