I wish I had known that diets never work when I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting twenty years ago.
I had gone to university a healthy weight (with a penchant for a good time) and came back two stone heavier!
It was suggested I lose some weight and exercise so off I went to my first meeting.
That started over 15 years of dieting.
From Weight Watchers to Whole 30, Paleo, macro counting, vegan food delivery, juice cleanses, Prolon, and anything Goop told me to do, I tried everything!
It was a cycle of loving and resenting food and alcohol, fluctuating weight drama, eating when I wasn’t hungry (or rejecting my hunger entirely), body envy, and frantic gym-going.
I felt like I was trying harder than everybody else but never getting anywhere.
