Breaking free of your cravings

Let’s talk about cravings.

If the recurring craving (like 4pm snack-time or after-dinner munchies) is being created by an unhelpful thought loop we're having, one of the keys to stop the craving from happening is to be able to notice and observe those thoughts without taking them so literally.

If you can observe your thoughts and cravings without obeying and rewarding them, you will eventually extinguish that behavioural loop. πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš’

It's important to acknowledge how it goes against our primal wiring to witness the (negative/unhelpful) thoughts and sensations we're experiencing without panicking... to stay calm despite the unsettling feelings we're noticing.

But it comes with a high reward versus the high cost of obeying our cravings. πŸ’°

Learning how to manage your cravings and observe your thoughts is a skill that's worth your investment. πŸ“ˆ

It's like learning how to play an instrument. πŸŽΉ
At first, it's awkward and hard and you make mistakes. But eventually it becomes natural, automatic and enjoyable - a part of who you are. πŸ’…πŸ»

You'll need to develop this skill alongside changing your identity.

If you don't up-level what you believe about yourself and don't stop believing all of the old thoughts that have got you somewhere you don't like, it will be extremely challenging to create lasting change.

You'll do it for a bit and then revert back to your old way. 🫠

We create what we believe so make sure you're telling yourself what to think on purpose EVERY SINGLE DAY!

  • I'm not an overeater.

  • I only eat when I'm hungry and I love stopping when my body has had enough.

  • I feel powerful when I don't obey my urges.

  • I don't eat instead of feeling.

  • I don't believe all of my thoughts.

  • I choose not to panic when I feel discomfort.

  • My body loves to be slim and strong. I was born this way.

  • I know how to take care of my body with respect and gratitude.
